The Curiosity Collection, Vol. 1

Have any of you ever found cool or weird stuff on the web? If the answer is no, then this is probably the only website you ever see. And also, you are lying.
I have collected, over the years since this Internet thing came into being, several funny and/or cool websites that I like to call curiosities. I call them that because I copied another newsletter that calls them that. I have quite a collection. And, hopefully, this will be a regular occurrence on my blog. If I remember.

Here's the first, it's called WebsitesAsGraphs. It takes any website you want and looks at its code, and animates a cool looking graph out of it. Here's my graph for this website as of today (the different colors represent different types of html tags - the key is on the site):

This still image doesn't do it justice. The real one has the balls all bouncing around and stuff.

More video excitement

Well, since absolutely no one is making any comments on any of my posts, I guess I'll just have to throw in a video montage of my daughter cooing and generally being cute if anyone is going to pretend my blog exists.
It's 3 minutes long, so make sure you go pop some popcorn and get comfortable.

Can you tell I love the crossfades? They rule.

Party Girl

Last week, Scott’s research group threw a little party/shower for Sonja and another new little baby, Eileen. They were so cute, and Sonja offered Eileen some advice, since she is a full 3 weeks older and more experienced. We got wonderful gifts and Sonja had a blast.
